3D Shapes- BUNDLE!

Learning the attributes of 3D shapes is so fun to kids. I enjoy having the students scavenger hunt for items around the classroom or even the school. Making it into a little class competition can be fun too! Set the timer, and let them go to searching! Once the timer goes off, share the shapes found and see who found the most! It is so amazing to see the level of creativity of the students.

As an extension to teaching 3D shapes, I have some products in my store that are perfect for hands-on learning!

BOTH of my 3D Shape Products are included in this bundle to save you $1.00!

3D Shape Book {Hands-On Cut & Glue Student Book}
Students love this cut-and-glue book of 3-dimensional shapes! Each page includes a place for students to glue the corresponding shape, blanks to fill in for the attributes of each shape (vertices, edges and faces), and an illustration of each shape. The final page of the book allows students to illustrate using as many shapes as possible and label the number of each shape used.

This is a great extension to a geometric shape unit, and it works so well as an assessment of learning! Students can color and decorate the cover as they please and make it their very own!

The pages of the book are half-sheets and can be stapled together once the book is completed.

FREEBIE!! Dictionary Skills Search!

When I was in the classroom, one thing I dreaded hearing was, "I'm done!! Now, what??" ...even when I felt like I'd prepared for that question time and time again. It happens.

Because I am not a fan of "busy work", I always wanted the "now what" to be a meaningful task. So, a friend of mine shared the idea of a Dictionary Dig, and I just tweaked it a bit to work for my class!

Click the picture to GRAB this FREEBIE!
When my kids came in the classroom each morning, they had their usual morning work to complete. Once they finished, they were to look at the board:

I put two words on the board each morning, and the students know to grab a dictionary and begin their search as a part of their morning work. If they happened to finish those two words, I would have them grab a book they are currently reading and find a tricky word to also complete a dictionary search to help them understand that new word as they read!

This Dictionary Search sheet is great for morning work, literacy centers, or just practicing dictionary skills. It's a great way to build vocabulary and makes for a great addition to a writing folder, or even a little book of new words at the end of the year!

...and the best part... ? The "now what" question is always answered!

As a teacher, I saw students who struggled with basic addition and subtraction skills DAILY. Continued reinforcement and practice is the only way students become fluent in their math facts. I developed this student-centered, hands-on, cut and glue book for students to do just that. I love watching the kids find the sum on their own and see the look of pride when their answer has been validated.

What a wonderful way to practice 2-digit addition!
Click on the picture to be taken to my store!

Each page of this book contains an addition number sentence and a box for students to glue in the correct answer.

The first seven pages also have space for students to create their own word problem for each number sentence to further demonstrate their knowledge of addition.

The last six pages have space for students to record the fact families for the number sentence at the top of each page.

This book is a great way to evaluate students' understanding of 2-digit addition, writing creative word problems and fact families, and it allows students to do so with a hands-on, cut and glue approach using their creativity in their writing!

Blank page templates have also been included to allow for differentiation. Students can create their own number sentences- either providing more of a challenge or a simple review and demonstration of knowledge!

Each number sentence is two-digit plus two-digit. Enjoy using this in math stations, group work, or as an assessment of learning! :-)

Notes, Reminders, and Notices for Parents

Sometimes you just need a quick form, note, reminder or notices to send home.

One example included in this pack:
Behavior Notice for student and parent to sign and return :)
Included in this great package are the most frequently used forms I send home to my parents.

It includes:

* An OOPS! homework notice- for students who forgot their homework
* A behavior notice with a checklist of what behaviors occurred
* Missing lunch/lunch money notice
* Overdue library book notice
* A "Great News" Note to write a message to parents for a great day!

Place Value Flash Cards using QR Codes 0-999,999

Place Value Flash Cards using QR Codes 0-999,999

Students LOVE using technology!

My students always loved using QR codes to solve problems, and they didn't even realize they were learning at the same time!

This pack includes a fun set of 30 place value flash cards to be used with a device that has a QR code app installed. Students read one card and then use their device (iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, etc.) to scan and check their answers. It's so fun for them to see success when the correct answer pops up on their screen!

The pack includes 3 sets of flash cards:

* The first set quizzes students on which numeral is in which place value.
* The second set quizzes students on standard to expanded form.
* The third set focuses on the value of each number.

The cards range from values in the ones place to the hundred thousands place. It is an excellent station or center activity, and can even be used for small group, take-home practice, or just for fun!

***Note*** The flash cards work best when they are NOT laminated. The glare of the lamination makes it more difficult for the scanner to read the code. I cut out the cards and put them in a baggie for protection. :-)

Welcome!

Welcome to my classroom resources blog!

I'm super excited to be diving further into my classroom creations and sharing the tools that have worked so well for me over the last eight years of teaching!

A little about me...

I'm now a stay-at-home-Mommy to my beautiful little girl! After teaching for eight years in the classroom, I'm now able to focus on sharing the lessons and resources I've created and continue to create. Teaching continues to be a passion of mine, and I look forward to going back to teaching one day in some form. (That is, when my Mommy duties aren't as time consuming!) I love helping other teachers supplement their teaching with materials!

Please visit my blog often as I hope to post my products from my Teachers Pay Teachers store in more depth. For now, please feel free to explore my store here!

Thanks so much for visiting!!
